An unusual coincidence happened today. We took in a Honda 250FM a while back in part exchange, they don’t sell too well, being two wheel drive, so it has been used as a courtesy bike. Anyway we had someone wanting to buy a 250 today, so they tried it out and reported back that 5th gear didn’t work. At the time I was servicing a customers 250ES, when I had finished, I took the ES out for “road test” and found a neutral where 5th should be on this one too. I’ve never had any trouble with 250 gearboxes before, both machines are circa 2007, is this a known fault, a bad batch of 250 gearboxes or what?
