Considering I own one, I think I know what I'm talking about. Watch the video and you will eat your words.

only one eating words will be you and you're little sidekick

Forget it, it's pointless. I put a video from honda up explaining the transmission in entirety and you show me a spec sheet saying the same thing.

The Rubicon CVT tranny is a marvel and it does only have simulated gears if not in auto mode...That and PS were big attractions.

As long as we all agree that the Rincons transmission is the best transmission known to man. Which is appropriate since they are installed exclusively in a Honda ATV.

I should have said I could not go any faster over the water bars and ruts than I could on the Rancher, comfort wise.

I think the confusion lies in that the Rubicon's transmission is a CVT but not a belt driven CVT. Seems to me to be similar to a friction wheel setup like those found on snowblower transmissions. "Shifting" moves the gearless friction wheels in and out on a round plate. The further in on the plate the lower the gearing. The further out on the plate the higher the gearing. Just what I gathered from watching the videos.

I would really like it if you guys stop the childish name calling and the in your face comments. We can agree to disagree. I'm about to close the thread.

So exactly what I was saying. Gearless hydraulic CVT automatic with 5 ratios in esp. I'm done now. Just can't stand when people spread false info to mislead others
