Adjust trx400x shift lever?

Adjust trx400x shift lever?
I recently bought a pair of Fly Racing mx boots to wear riding my quad, but the boots don't fit under the shift lever very well. Is there a way to raise the shift lever up so that I can get my foot under it? Thanks!

Yes, you remove the bolt that holds it on the shaft. Pull the lever straight off the shaft, both the lever and shaft have teeth. Usually rotating it up one tooth is enough to clear riding boots.
