well as i said in the other post, i just bought it like 2 weeks ago, and i have just noticed this yesterday, but i was driving along and then i stopped and when i stopped it just quit, and i started it back and it quit again and then i started it back and it ran okay for a while and then later i came to another stop and it did it again? i thought it was because i was low on gas, but i put it on reserve and it did it on it too? could it be water in the gas? r something else? please help

it sounds to me like you have water in the gas. you have totally drain all the gas from the tank and the carb to make sure you get it all out. Once you do that run a tank of high test through it and that should do it. Also you might want to check you plug to make sure it isn't about to foul out from the water in the gas.

my 400ex is doing this to me also. It happens usually 2-3 times a ride, and does it within a minute of each time. I can not figure out why it is doing it. Does yours not want to really start after it quits too? To get mine to start right back up i have to either turn the key off then on or the killswitch.

my recon use to do that when ridding over bumby ground it would stall and then it would start back up i called the dealer they said it was probably shakin the gas up in the carb and was making it suck in air instead of gas and that was causing it to stall

yea maybe that is it, cause to come to think about it, i aint had it but 2 weeks now and i aint had it in water that was deeper than bout 3/4 of my tires so i don't think water could get in gas that away, but i do spray it down after everyride, it may get in that away, but i doubt it, and i'll pay attention i'll fill it up and see if it starts it when my gas tank kinda gets low

I had the same problem with my foremen and traced it back to my gas tank. Every time it did this I'd unscrew the gas cap and it'd fire back up. I took out the fent hose and cut the end that goes into the steering stem on an angle so it wouldnt suck itself to anything anymore. Works just cherry. Try it and see what happens.

Pull the cover off the stator and flywheel and see if there is any water inside the cover,if there is then seal where the wires go in with silicone on the inside and out.
