Default Rancher 350 Stalls When Giving Throttle, Help With Carb Hoses.

Just scored a 05 rancher 350 from original owner for 700 bucks. All original he said the hoses on the carb were shot and needed replaced which i think he didnt finish he said something about a 1 way check valve and a "T" fitting. Ive never messed with this kind of carb setup im used to a banshee. I just thought these would have regular carb vents and fuel lines but these actually have vacuum lines? It will start up fine and barely move around but when giving a little throttle it will just stall out, pulling choke will help slightly it will rev a little higher. Almost seems to me like carb needs a good cleaning or something in there is messed up instead of those lines like hes saying but i have no idea, any1 have experience with this?

Yes, the carb needs cleaning. The vents are just that, tubes that run to a point higher up on the bike. The one way valve is in the tube from under the float bowl downwards, the valve is there to stop water getting in and it goes down to allow fuel to flow through it if the float sticks open. Don't ever lift this tube higher than the float bowl or a stuck float will lead to an engine full of fuel.

Yea i knew the guy was full of crap, i tore into it today and i only found 1 actual vacuum line the one with the valve and i tested it and the o rings were fine all the rest were drain and vent lines like any carb. checked everything else out the diaphrams and all were good. Ended up being a bunch of crud in the carb still even though he said he cleaned so i did a complete tear down all was fine after that except i had to replace the fuel screw o ring. Simple fix for a 1 owner 05 rancher 350 who bought brand new with 2 year warranty for 700 bucks. factory tires and everything still in good shape. Will need a cv axle soon, seat cover and i need to figure out size for the plastic fender rivets so i can buy a bunch.

Default Speed clips

You can buy the speed clips on Amazon. Seems like they were 7 or 8 bucks for 30.
