I rode a Raptor today, and I honestly don't like it. I didn't know what to expect from it, but I didn't care for it much. It feels like you sit up much higher than a 400. I'll just stay with my 400EX. Good luck.

I have ridden both machines. I would recommend both. If you want total reliablity i would swing towards the 400EX, until the Raptor has a couple of years under its belt. If you want a machine that can do everything the 400 can do and more, i would go for the Raptor. She has a lot more power than the 400, and it would take a lot of cash to bring a 400 up to a stock Raptor. Comparing a Raptor to a 400EX is like comparing a 400EX to a Warrior. After i rode my Raptor the 400Ex felt like i was riding my Warrior. I am not trying to knock the 400EX but just give an honest opinion. I really like the 400EX because of its reliabilty and its ride on the trails. A 400EX can easily do the same thing as a Raptor in the trails. Once people get used to the power and ride of the Raptor I think that may change. If you are an experienced rider I would go for the Raptor. If not I would go for the 400EX. It is definately an easier quad to ride. Just my 2 cents worth !

I have a raptor and I am about 230. My front end comes up all the time. My buddy just picked his 400ex up today and all he keeps saying is he will blow me away in the woods. Now I don't know about you but the trail up here in Michigan are wide and have alot of room to run. Maybe in those few places were it tight and its hard to get out of second the 400ex will handle better. I have never had a problem with tipping in tight turns and there is no lack of power in any gear on the raptor. The raptor can be hard on the back in rough woods and maybe thats were the 400ex has its best upper hand but time will tell. My other friend has a banshee and I think that not having that topend sucks. I rode a warrior last year and when your sitting back there topped out and rocks are just drilling you in the chest its not alot of fun.

Racer18j................... What are you smoking?

Here are the **Measured Times** by 2 professional riders

Raptor 0-50mph 5.97sec 0-30Mph 2.20
400EX 0-50mph 7.72sec 0-30mph 2.58

The raptor smokes the EX in s straight line. On the track or trails the 400 ex is faster on a 1 mile wooded course the 400ex was a full 7 seconds faster then the raptor.
