Easy horsepower for 2002 Honda Recon 250
#21
The 680 ohv Rincon makes 38hp . the 700 Grizzly makes 48hp . You can juggle the books all you want .
BTW the new current Harleys do not use the push rod they have been with the DOHC High Output Twin Cam 103B™ engine for a few years now. 2016 Harley-Davidson Softail Slim Review Even they moved on.

you really have no clue do you? most of Harley's engines are still pushrod, take another look... the twin cam is NOT a dohc. also did you ever think maybe the Rincon is in a lower state of tune then the grizzly? Yamaha banshees only make about 40hp at the wheels in stock form... a little porting and a set of pipes and you're easily in the 60hp range.
what does that mean? it means stock doesn't dictate the potential of an engine, far from it! and why are you so hung up on PEAK hp numbers anyway? do you ride wide open all the time? from what ive read you don't consider a wide trail a "atv trail" so those numbers would be meaningless to you anyway!

wow, you totally glossed over what I said. you musta been hard to teach in school! you do realize Harley's are CRUISERS right? they are not made for high hp. nobody rides a street bike or atv wide open at peak rpm all the time unless they are drag racing.
on the other side of the coin if you want big hp out of a Harley, it can easily be done. just because they only put out a certain number in stock form doesn't mean the potential isn't there for more... its called state of tune. Harley tuned them for low end power from the factory, which is useful on the street
