I am about to buy a 2007 400ex w/ Sparks racing full exhaust. K&N filter and no airbox lid. Other than that, completely stock. What do you guys recommend I add to make it trail ready? I am on a budget of $300-400.

 

If it runs well...and has good tires....run it as is.....

 

The tires are good, but its a no name tire. I am just worried about breaking things. I am 14 and found an affordable 400ex, and that what i have wanted for a year. Just been looking for the right one. I will probably get cst ambush tires, nerfs, and an extra chain.

 

Get a swing arm skid plate and ride.

 

I'm with jgar. Protect your swingarm, go hit some trails.

 

No nerfs? No spare parts? I will be riding at Hatfield and McCoy, probably black diamonds.

 

I picked it up today, It has an aftermarket swing arm skid, sparks full exhaust, K&N filter, Kenda tires, and I changed the oil. (dummy had the old filter in backwards, spring on the wrong side) I am buying a set of Tusk nerf bars, and possible an easy pull clutch lever.
