I've looked at the Billetanium setup as well, but remember reading a couple of negatives about them from the dirtbike crowd. Don't remember any specifics though.... I really should keep record of all the research I do, just end up causing myself more research

Hey Trailmix - have you considered the FCR carb for your setup? I think you'd be very pleasantly surprised if you are still using a stock carb. Worth every penny - especially if you consider the price/performance of it vs a pipe setup....

I have not had any problems with mine so far. I know the dirtbike set ups sit differently on the bike. The arm that pulls the clutch arm sits inside the side case much as does the stock cable on a dirt bike.

Hey Gabe, I did get a FCR and I'm working to get the jetting just right. This carb really is a masterpiece of design. I'm glad that I got the FCR instead of the Edelbrock and I would agree- that for the same money as a full pipe, the FCR is a much better investment than the pipe.

I found that a step or two higher on both the main and pilot (maybe 3 on the pilot) when compared to the stock carb is about right..

Had to mod the accelerator pump on mine to get rid of the stall when the throttle was snapped open - now it runs great, has excellent power, and even gets quite a bit better fuel economy than the stock carb.

Hey Gabe, it's me again. What kind of modification did you do to your accelerator pump? I was having the same bogging when I snapped the throttle open- until I bent the stop back on the accelerator pump return stop. That seemed to fix the problem. It came with a 165 main jet, 50 slow jet, and the needle clip was on the third groove from the square end. Saturday I picked up a 168, 170 and 172 main jet. I tried the 172 and then the 170, the 172 is way too big and the 170 seemed too rich too. I haven't had time to put the 168 in yet. I had been running a 160 in the stock carb. I have the fuel screw out four turns. It wouldn't even run at 1 turn out. Four turns seemed like a lot- do you think that is excessive?

Bending the metal tab didn't seem to help me much. What I did was remove the washer from the inside of the pump and added an additional spring to increase the pressure that throttle application applies to the pump. That pretty well corrected it for me.

I am currently running a 170 main, a 52 pilot, 3rd pos on the needle, and left the screws alone as it seemed really close. Need to do a couple more plug reads, I may go down to a 168.

My stock carb jetting was a 165 and a 42 pilot (I was in the process of richening the pilot when I decided to get the FCR).
