Default Honda Foreman with issues

Tried to tell my son not to put those great big tires on his "new" to him, 2008 500 foreman. First ride and busted u joint among other things. Hes out of state working so I'm trying to get the parts he needs. Problem is it looks like all of the aftermarket U joint kits for that bike (All *****..ect.) have been discontinued. If I'm replacing the yoke and I think the output shaft from the motor may be damaged, what all parts in the way of seals, bearings, etc...will I need? I've looked at Honda parts fiche but I can't find what appears to be the output shaft??? Thanks for any help!

I'm fairly sure it will require a full engine strip down to get at that shaft. It may be best to ensure you do need it before going any further. The UJ spider is peened into the yokes on Hondas, and comes as an assembly, so aftermarket suppliers don't bother making them as a rule.

The 500 foreman is not the ATV to put larger mudder tires for two reason. 1)It has a low 28hp and 2) has no low range, it just has a low 1st gear Granny gear but not a dedicated low range sub tranny like the 500 Rubicon.

The Rubicon doesn't hold up well to larger tires either. I know a guy who put 28's on his Rubicon and was having similar failures. I'm not a big fan of putting much larger tires than stock on anything. I could probably cram 27 or 28" tires on my Brute Force but it gets through most stuff just fine the way it is with more aggressive but still stock size 25" tires. 26" Zillas would be probably as big as I would go if I were to buy tires, though the tires on it are quite new. The 26" size and up gets you the bigger lugs in the Zillas. But they're still lighter than many 25" mud tires. I'd rather keep it closer to stock instead of losing power with bigger tires to get slightly more ground clearance.
