I've found a 87 Honda 250R, where the chasis and all componets of it are in good shape. The only thing is that the motor is blown. The guy said it's something in the bottom end casing. But i'm prolly gonna buy it anyway cause i want a project, and he's selling it real cheap. But if i can't fix the motor inexpensively(under a couple hundred), what motor could i put in the stock chasis and still have the power of the 250R? Should i look for another 250R engine? or should i opt to go with a different stronger engine, and which one because i don't want the vibration to damage the frame. Also, if they motor can be fixed but it has to be bored, what would be the best big bore kit to go with, so i can retain all of the Honda reliability and my quad will always be there for me.? I mainly ride woods, some open fields, and some small jumping. So what size big bore would be the best for me? The main thing is that i still want the reliability.

Ok, I race Yamaha but I have a couple of teammates that race 250r's. Look into sending the motor to curtis sparks to take care of it. They do a great job and it will be well worth the money. Scott has a Roll Design chassis with a Curtis sparks racing motor in it and he loves it. Reliable as hell and also super fast with the stock 250cc, no bore. Check it out, if you go to atvscene.com they have info on them there.
