400ex stalling clutch

Default 400ex stalling clutch

Just put in a new tusk clutch for my 2000 400EX. when I pull in the cable on the cold start and put it in gear it wants to roll forward.... it's like the clutch cable isn't doing anything it's fine when it's warmed up... help?

It's creeping forward because it's not disengaging properly...so, my suggestion would be to review the install and make sure the fiber/metal plate order is correct and that you have them all installed. Hopefully you pre-soaked the fibers and if you didn't replace the metals you inspected them for warping and overheating (they'd have a bluish haze if overheating)...also, did you replace the gasket with a new gasket or did you just use gasket sealer...some require the gasket to leave enough clearance for full disengagement...

Yes, I oiled the fiber plates before installing...
