Default 2005 TRX400EX5 Won't go into gear

I have a 2005 TRX400EX5, I tried to tow a vehicle out of a ditch. As I was revving it up I was slowly releasing the clutch and it was pulling the vehicle forward then all of a sudden the ATV would not move forward. I have been told by 2 different people that it was a shear pin. Is that true? And why can't I find any information on how to fix it. Thanks for any and all help, I appreciate it.

Well first, Its not a very good idea to pull heavy weights with a sport quad. They are distend for speed, not pulling. But depends how it happened and if u were just doing it in first gear or if u were trying to do it in a higher gear. That pin is a possible solution but I'm not sure why u can't find anything on how to fix it.

Thank you for the response. Do you by chance have a Youtube video link or a link to "how to" replace it?
I really don't want to take it to the dealer.
