Default Upgrading to a Trx 450?

Hey everyone,

So i have a 2007 Trx 400ex. Its a good amount of power around the house but when my family takes it up north i top it out a lot of the time and want something faster. I really like the Trx 450's but ive never ridden one. Im a good rider and a decent mechanic but i dont like doing a bunch of maintenance. Any opinions or information on how Trx 450's go through trails are helpful. How do they go on narrow trails? can its first gear bog down low enough for trails? Are they relaible?
Thanks!

(BTW: I ride mostly trails with some dirt roads, small jumps, some wheelies)

You'll like a 450.

You'll like the 450R but you will be lugging in second in the forest and using the clutch more than the 400EX. I have both and the 400EX is usually easier to ride with a group in the forest. As long as I'm leading with the 450R and can keep my speed up I'm very happy though.

Thanks for the reply. Just a guess after riding one, how fast do the first couple gears go and what are the minimum speeds for those gears?

Not sure of exact speed but first and second gear are way taller than the 400ex.
