Default Resented aquired 440ex.

I was traded a 440ex a while ago and it sat for a little bit due to being busy. Now that the weather is breaking I would like to change fluids and trade again. I don’t know much about bike besides that it is bored to 440. Oil cooler blah blah blah. How much and what type of oil do I need. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

Pretty good video on changing the oil here. Note what he says about the filter direction. You do not want to get this wrong.

Oil capacity is 1.9 quarts. Oil type recommended is 10w 40. The brand you choose is up to you. It is a wet clutch system, so I'd use a designated 4 stroke oil or an oil without friction modifiers.

Cc's don't have anything to do with oil weight.
It's more important to make sure you get the correct oil as stated in video.

yeah I have a 400ex and a trx 450er. It is bored over but the typical oil for a 400ex would still be good. That is a good video that i've watched before for oil changes. And for trade worth amount, it depends where you are and year makes a big difference but around 2003 would be like $2300, 2006 would be around $2600
