Default 2005 Honda 400at blows control motor fuse

Looking for help, 2005 honda 400at blows control motor 30 amp fuse ,soon as you turn the key, won`t go out of 1st gear,unplug control motor connection up front and fuse does not blow , control motor turns when connected direct to battery,flashes code 12 , any help would be appreciated ,Thanks

I will have to check what code 12 is when I get to work, but it seems strange that it would blow the fuse when you turn the key, as I would have thought it should only power the control motor when you engage drive. What happens when the switch is in Auto?

Code 12 is control motor wiring fault, which you will get if you disconnect the motor. Never tried it, but I would strip the motor and see if you can find why it blows fuses.
