HELP
I have the above quad bike and think there is a problem with the clutch. Changing gears seems very nice and tight, but when have change into next gear up and start to increase the throttle there seems to be a lot of lag esp when under strain like going up a hill or something? I know there is a manual adjustment on the side of the bike but I am
presuming that is to help with the gear changing, and the problem I am hopefully describing is possibly something internal? Hopefully it’s not but looking for any thought or advice.....please help....

You have clutch slip and it will get rapidly worse due to the plates glazing unless you adjust the clutch. There are actually two clutches, a normal multiplate motorcycle one, and a centrifugal clutch for setting off from neutral, this usually works fine until the shoes wear down to the metal, then it slips. So if it is this one slipping the shoes will require replacement, as will the other, if too worn to adjust. Details of how to adjust the muliplate should be available on-line.

Just googled it and got this https://www.manualslib.com/manual/79....html?page=110 the page is from a Honda manual for the 300 but the clutch is very similar if not identical.

The adjuster is for adjusting gear/clutch engagement, but if the clutch is partly disengaged all the time due to needing adjustment, you get slip.
My guess would be turn clockwise for a start. If it is adjustment it requires, it will be tight and free as you turn. Then you can do as it says in the instructions. If the plates have glazed, it may not stop the slipping clutch, but Hondas are not too bad for glazing (Kawasakis are known for it). However if the plates or centrifugal clutch shoes are worn out, adjusting won't help, and a strip and inspection of both clutches will tell you if one or both need replacement. Get a manual before stripping, as it contains the wear limits for plates and springs, as well as how to do it.
