Default 2000 Honda Rancher ES Shift Issues

I have a 2000 Honda Rancher ES 4X4 that I’ve been working on getting everything replaced and serviced. So here’s the deal the first time I got the quad cranked shifted through every gear no problems. Then I try to shift into reverse it dies mainly because the carb needed rebuilt. I didn’t even feel like messing with the carb and bought a new one for 30 bucks. Get a new one and crank the quad up and was going to pull it out of the shop. It shifts into reverse fine I back out it drops literally a inch off the pad and dies. Well then it won’t shift back into neutral so I grab the manual shift tool and it shifts fine back and forth from neutral to reverse manually. So I’m again searching for the problem notice the wire from the Neutral Reverse safety switch was loose reconnected it and at some point I haven’t noticed until this point the dash screen doesn’t show that it is in gear and shifter makes no noise to shift motor it’s like it doesn’t have power. Well today I disconnect the main PCM or computer plug and notice the dash shows it’s in neutral and the neutral light is on. Well now I think I’ve fixed the issue connect the plug back and everything goes right back to the same. I realize this is a lot but trying to give all info to find out what is wrong it has a new shift angle sensor new neutral reverse safety switch new carb and new starter solenoid. Any IDEAs

Check the Motor fuse in the fusebox. Check all earths and battery leads. After that there isn't a lot you can do except get the workshop manual and go through all the test procedures. If the ECU has gone bad, it will probably cost more than the bike is worth to fix it. In these cases I usually go for a manual shift conversion. Remove shift motor gears and put a special pedal with a hex fitting onto shaft. Hopefully though, it will just be a bad connection or loose wire.

Ok well with the ECM disconnected the dash shows N. I decided to try manually shifting and when you shift manually from N to R the dash goes back to - -. So because of this issue the quad will not fire I’m guessing. The quad will only manually shift from neutral to reverse and not any of the forward gears incase this helps I’m going to try more tomorrow
