Lazy Thumb
#1
I'm new to this sport and recently purchased a Rubicon after many hours of research. I believe the Rubi is the best offered at this time. After my first 100 hours of riding, one thing I noticed is the day after I ride my thumb feels "lazy".
While thumbing, (no pun intended) through the spring edition, 40th anniversary Cabela's catelog, page 227, I saw a throttle extension that screws on, providing you with more resting support for your thumb. I ordered the Deluxe Thumb Assist and it does work. I was worried that you wouldn't have as much control with the throttle, however, after riding for awhile, it worked great. Not much of a Cabela's fan, but this item worked for me. If anyone has a better way to eliminate thumb problems, I would appreciate your comments. Thanks Jim

My thumb would start to go numb after Riding my new Ruby. I've been using the "thumb saver" and it helps the situation. Be sure to trim off the bottom lip of your rubber grip or your throttle could stick fully opened.
I wish I could adjust the position of this gizmo but it only goes on one way.

Check out the SportsTech "Thumbthing". It eliminates thumb and wrist fatigue caused by repetitive pumping of a throttle. Heat and Compression increase blod flow and speed healing. Made of 4-way stretch neoprene. Fits either hand. The "Shadetree" Catalog has it, and it was selling for $22.99 ShadeTree can be reached at 1-888-742-3387 Toll Free. Or you can Fax them at 1-800-927-8620 Maybe this will help.

what I did was angle my throttle up. it sits now on my bars at about a 45 degree angle. everyone who sits on my quad says "what the heck?" but I'm tellin you it works. it may feel kind of awkward at first but your thumb will never bother you again.
