I just purchased a new Rubicon yesterday, and this machine is amazing. My only issue with it is regarding the oil temperature light. It seems to come on every time I go down a really steep hill. It doesn't matter if I am in automatic or manual mode, it comes on going down any steep hill. When I get to the bottom, the light goes out after about 5-10 seconds. If I ride on somewhat level ground for even an hour or so it doesn't come on at all. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm wondering if this is something I should have checked out, or if this is a normal operation. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I agree they are an amazing machine. Mine doesn't do that & I've been on some pretty steep stuff. My only suggestion would be to check the oil level. Not that a Honda dealer would ever screw up a setup on a new bike....

No of course not, dealers never goof anything up...
I checked the oil level and everything looked alright. I'll check it again to be sure...

Well I checked the oil and it was at the highest level. The coolant is also at the high level mark. Any one else have any ideas? Does this sound like something I should have checked out by the dealer? Thanks for any help.

I would take it back to the dealer while its still under warranty. Its problably just a loose wire or connection, still its better to be safe than sorry.I also agree with you on the Ruby being a amazing quad. The tranny is so smoooooth.

Thanks for the replies...
I do think I am going to take it to the dealer just to be safe. I thought I'd check to see if it happened to someone else and had an easy fix. I really was so impressed with this machine after having it out all day, even my friend with a Foreman ES was pretty jealous. Hopefully, it will just be something stupid...

I once had a large dirt clod wedged between the fan blade and shroud, which prevented my fan from turning. My temp light came on frequently until we finally figured out what was going on. Just one of the hazards of slinging mud I guess!

After about the 2nd week of mine overheating and the radiator boiling over once we figured out that the fan wire was unhooked. simple fix, just plugged it in and haven't had a problem since.
