Default 300ex Carburetor adjustments with airbox lid removed

Hello, I have a 1995 300ex and I want to remove the airbox lid. it is possible to just change the needle clip position and pilot adjustment screw, or would i have to rejet? I have a k&n filter with a stock pipe and stock motor. The spark arrester is also removed if that changes any adjustments.

The fact is, once you go "non standard" with air intake, exhaust or any other tuning mod, you just have to set the carb to suit it. Things can get a bit counterintuitive too, several have reported on here that removing the snorkel on a 250 Recon results in the engine running richer. See how it runs with the standard setting, check plug nose colour and alter the main needle setting if it looks well out. Alter idle jet, if it runs badly on idle, to where you get the highest revs for that idle speed setting, or perhaps a little on the rich side, if it stutters on opening the throttle.
