1997 Honda Foreman S Shifting Issue
#1
My Foreman is not currently running. I bought it used that way for a project with my kids. It is stuck in gear, though I can push it backwards, it is locked in gear when I attempt to push it forward.
Front clutch cover is off and there doesn’t appear to be any issues there.
I haven’t removed the rear cover to check the shift mechanism.
Thoughts on what this could be??

Front case cover removed and clutch assembly removed youshould be able to see all the shifting parts there may have to manually shift the shift drum by hand to if transmission fork in bent an If shiht drum moves my hand than that great then may have shift lever or arm cracked

Yes, when you try to change gear with the cover removed you should be able to see why it isn't working. Note the starwheel on the front of the shift drum can come loose as well as broken pawls and levers. Someone on here was wanting similar advice a couple of weeks ago, so worth checking back. ES and manual shift mechanisms on all models are almost identical, apart from having the extra external gearbox and motor on the ES.
