I just bought an 86 250R that i'm restoring, and it needs an exhaust pipe. I'll mainly be riding woods, and open fields, so i'll need power everywhere in the power band. The pipes I've been thinking about are the LRD Adjustable, FMF Sst, and the FMF fatty. Which one would suit my needs best? or is there another pipe i'm over looking that would work even better for power everywhere in the power band?

I've got a Paul Turner pipe on mine and it seems to work very well. You don't hear of this pipe very often, but it's a great pipe!

LRD makes one of the best pipes for the 250r. By the ones you mentioned I would go with the LRD. As for the Paul Turners pipes, he is right!! He also is pretty good and you don't hear alot from him. But for a pipe for a 250r its pretty hard not to mentioned LRD!!

I have a Paul Turner Eliminator 98 pipe on my R and it is great. Not a lot of low end but the mid and especially top are great.

Out of all the pipes that are available for the R I hear the best things about the LRD adjustable and the FTZ fat in frame pipe.

I'm looking at the Paul Turner Mid Range, because the guys at Duncan said that this pipe would give me the best power gains, for everywhere in the powerband. Or either the LRD adjustable, because they also said that their's would give me good power gains everywhere if it were adjusted on the right setting. How exactly do you adjust these pipes? And are there any other suggestions? Keep in mind this is a bone stock 250R that might be getting a rad valve or something.

I currently have an old FMF pipe on there now. A few weeks ago I brought the Paul Turner mid range (race) pipe. I made the mistake of getting is ceramic coated. When I installed it, the pipe blew off the cylinder and put a nice hole in the lower section when it hit the frame.

I will be purchasing another PT pipe (since I have the exhaust and clamp for it) sometime this summer. If you go to GT thunders website you will see a bunch of 250R dynos for the pipes.

Lrd is adjustable by bolts in the middle section. It makes the expansion chamber shorter or longer thereby varying the timing of the shock wave.

I brought PT pipes for my Banshee. I loved them and I will only get PT for the 250R.

If u want HP increase u HAVE to go with sparks! This may sound a bit conceded but if sparks makes a pipe for a machine it’s the best!
