What is really necessary to have serviced at the 500 mile mark? My dealer told me valves, oil change and filter, gear oil, differential oil..........on and on. They said it will cost me about $200. Just seems a little high!!

Thanks

You can do it yourself for @$24-$30 in parts, oils, etc. DO KEEP all receipts for your parts and lubes just in case you need to document your service history. I was told this by 2 Honda dealers, within the last year.
Look in the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual for required(by warranty) service needed. I think your "Major" service is due at 600mi. or 100 hours, whichever comes first. Not positive about that, though.

The dealer I deal with had a spring special. They adjusted the valves, oil change, diff fluid change, clean and lube air filter, and check all cables ,brakes ect.. for 90 bucks. 200 does seem rather high to me..
