400EX Water Problems (Charging into water)

I had the same problem with recon and have seen friends with 300ex and 300 4x4 experience the same. I read a post in the old forums suggesting dielectric grease in the sparkplug cap. Tried it and have not had a problem since. Honda dealer sells small tube for about $5.
Hope this helps, you might also coat any semi open electrical connections.

John,
Thanks for the warning. I guess I'll leave my hoses where they are. Have you tried dielectric grease on the sparkplug cap (thanks demps)? The worst thing about this problem is that you have to run your ride through the water to see if it's fixed. I hate doing that when there's a chance I'm sucking water into my engine every time. Surely there is someone out there who is man enough to figure this out by trial and error! I'll chip in $5 for the engine rebuild!
