sounds like there are marbles in my 400ex tires.

I bought my 400ex new in march and have never had the tires off or even needed to add air. I have always noticed a weired sound coming from the rear tires when I pushed it around in the garage. I just wrote it off as being the tread on the cement. But the other day I jacked up the rear end and spun the tires by hand and discovered that there is something roleing around in the tires. Has anyone had this or have any idea what it may be? Thanks for any replies.

my friend had this in his front tires. we think it was little pebbles that had gotten past the beads because there were already a few jammed in there. also i have heard that that sound is peices of rubber that come off the inside of the tire. there was a post about this a while ago. search for it.

I also had the same sounds in my tires. When I replaced my stocker back tires, I was there when the guy put on the new tires. I assumed that there were pebbles getting past the bead lock. Nope. It was little ***** of black gunk that form from the sealant and rubber on the inside of the tire. I did not see any pebbles at all. I asked the Honda guy if this was common, and he said that he sees these "gunk" ***** all of the time, and much more often than any pebbles.
