The Whit Bros. E Series I think is the only one that is over the stock powerband the whole way through! Maybe Yoshimuras are like that but I know for sure WBs are andplus they are cheaper. They give a deep rumble that I love to hear. I think many people will agree with me. I have mine on back order, kinda hard to get.

Get the DMC.

It sounds awesome, all stainless steel construction and improves throttle response.

You must understand that a pipe alone on a stock motor will only make 1-1.5 more hp. What they will do for you is give better throttle response and allow the motor to rev all the way through the powerband. Don't expect to go 20mph faster with just a pipe.

For example: With my stock exhaust I would bog and lose power when hill climbing. When I put the DMC on, it allowed the motor to keep the RPM's up. So I can climb hills that used to stop me in my tracks. DMC=No bogging!

I liked the shootout that Dirtwheels did. It convinced me on my purchase. the Big gun pulled 7 more horses throughout the entire powerband and a little more at peak. WB was the only one to beat it and that was by like .5 hp at peak. I love the way mine sounds now, and have much more torque so it don't bog out quite as easy.

Yo ,

Get the DMC or Duncan racing . There isn't any pipe so powerfull as the DMC or Duncan . But get on your way directley a K&N Power kit with jets and needle .

They sound and pressure you get from the pipe are fantastic !!!!

Just to let you know

CT also makes a good slip-on, I have one on my 400 and you you can definitly tell the differance, It is not really faster, just alot stronger then before, I also considered the e-series, but they were on back order and I wanted a pipe asap. But when I get the cash to do some motor mods I would like to get a DMC to go along with them. can't argue with duals

Sweetcorn,
I've got a couple of questions about your CT Slip-on. Did you order it with the CT jet kit, or did you just purchase some Keihin (sp) mains? What are your jetting settings? How was the customer service at CT?

Thanks for the help.

I am also getting a pipe in the next few weeks. I've been looking and looking. I've decided that the DMC probably does make the most horsepower, but is 500 dollars. That's just too much for me. I'd like to get it, but I was something more in my price range. The other pipes that caught my eye were the CT racing pipe, Graydon, Sparks, and maybe LRD. After pricing them and looking at graphs at the gtthunder website, I decided that even though the Graydon makes a little bit less power than the DMC, I think that I'll get it because it is only 329 dollars for the complete chrome version! I think that is pretty good. I haven't made it my final answer yet, but that's the one I'm leaning towards. GO HERE for the shootout of a lot of exaust. This might help you out some.

I am just curious why no one has mentioned SuperTrapp. I saw the shootout too, but..... I know real world and seat of the pants is where the answer really lies. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that it is the best, just that shootouts arn't always the only thing to go by. I saw in Dirt Wheels a couple of months ago where people write in and ask questions, one of them was what pipe to put on a 400EX, the guy responded with SuperTrapp. I thought that interesting since they didn't come out on top in the shootout. For what it is worth, my friend has a 400EX with a FMF Powercore IV, jet kit,and K&N filter. It sounds cool and really seemed to improve performance. I didn't ride it enough before the pipe and jet kit were installed to tell the diff. but I know it runs good now. Especially after we adjusted the throttle cable slack.
