Cooling fan kicking on .
#1
I just got back from a week long hunting trip and this is the first extended trip I've had on my 97 Foreman . The daytime temperature here in Utah ranged from 45 to about 80 degrees . I noticed that when I would ride slow or the machine would idle that the cooling fan would engage . Is this normal? I thought that the fan might kick on when the average temps were maybe 80 to 100 degrees but not when cooler than normal . The oil temp. light never came on , just the fan. Thanks for any info .

The cooling fan kicks on anytime there isn't enough air moving around the engine to cool it. It doesn't really matter what the outside temp is. In cool weather it just takes a little longer for the engine to get hot enough to engage the fan. To answer your question...YES, it is completely normal.
