Hmmm, how to explain a hollow.
Ok, I live in the foothills of the appalachian mountains in eastern kentucky. There are places like were a creek runs off the hill and into the valley. The valley is pretty much the hollow. Instead of having a big long valley though, they usually come to a stop in the curve of a mountain, where you can go no further. That doesn't really make to much since to you probably, is hard to explain.
Hope it at least sheds some light on the subject. With the accent around here you never here it called hollow, it always a holler. Like a minnow is a minner.
