Would you rather live in a city that you cant even breathe because there is so much polution in the air? I lived in California 15 years, pollution control is a big deal in this state and you can see a difference now thanks to pollution control. 2 stroke off-road vehicles arent the cause of our pollution problems but they are definately adding to it now. Vehicles now produce as much hp as ever and burn 10 cleaner, if it were not for bans than fuel injected motors would never be where they are now.

What have you given up as far as freedom? Do you honestly feel were worse off now than 200 years ago? I dont agree with some things but we live in a democracy. Things can be voted on. If you thought guns (just an example) should be in the hands of everyone and the rest of the population didnt would you be happy if it were legal? Your playing a two way street that cant be played. There is a fine line between freedom and anarchy. Humans have to be governed, we take and take. If laws arent imposed we stand more to loose. In California there could be houses over Glamis pretty soon. Thankfully that wont happen because groups have stepped up to the plate. I can think of many more riding areas that would be closed to atvs as well if they werent governed. I'm from Lake Arrowhead (close to Big Bear) California and our atv's can still be ridin in Nation Forest areas, these areas will not be built upon and thus we will maintain an area to ride as long as we dont abuse it.

I dont support much of what the government does but I also understand that collectively we are much smarter than an individual that doesnt agree with something.

Where is a better place to live than this? Its not perfect but it is definately getting better. Maybe you should direct your feelings and energy in a more positive manner by contacting your congressman etc.

i personaly think our country would be even better off if many government restrictions were not imposed..for example if instead of the govenment establishing polution controll, the people that were concerned about pollution (which is everybody right?) started to serch for alternate fuel sorces to help the air..this would imediately start competition for the cleanest form of power, becasue the people wanted it. it could be said government bans do the same thing but what usually happens is the government bans something and the manumactuers just make something to just get by, and the people are apeased by this so they dont demand more so the competition isnt as strong and new technologies are not developed as fast...i believe the government should be very hands off in buying and selling i think it works better that way even though it doesnt sem that way at first...dont get me wrong im not an anarchist i do see a need for government...but the purpose of the governmet should to protect and uphold freedom not control it. and i think the free market will take care of things on its own and the final product will be better if the government stays back within its bounds....true there is no better place than this i just think it should be better..and yes i do do stuff about it.

Does that include 2 stroke snowmobiles being banned in the States? A 4 stroke sled would be harder to start, heavier and much slooooowwwwer.

Crying Wolf Gentlemen.Remember how "Honda announced they would stop production on all 2strokes" Remember how many guys here were swearing there would be no 2002 CRs? Not only are there 2002 CRs,but the 250 has a new engine that took multi millions of dollars to engineer.2strokes aren't "banned" in California they are restricted in certain areas at certain times of year. There is technology that will make 2strokes run cleaner.Do you guys, yeah I'm talking to you guys, the ones with your hands over your eyes, think 2stroke off road machines contribute 1 iota of overall pollution in this world? Come on, its bureaucratic BS, you can ride a 2stroke ATV every day of the year and have a clear concious, beacause you are polluting less in a year than 1 factory is doing in a day.

Y'all got your minds working, and that is good to see, but some of this sounds a little far fetched. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying what is and what isn't because most of it is just opinions, like the ones I am about to state, and that is what this is all about. I am not going to say anyone is "wrong" because these are opinions and not facts... so you can't be wrong (and neither can I :-))

Will the gov't "ban" 2 strokes... not in 50 years. They may tighten up pollution regulations enough that it isn't practical to ride them anymore, but they know if they ban them they are going to get crap from the manufacturers and loss allot of money that those companies are "giving" them.

The gov't shouldn't ban things...if people want cleaner air they will find away to do that... Obviously not, otherwise Cali wouldn't be in the shape it is in (no I ain't picking on Cali, but that is the state mentioned... never been there so I don't know.) Companies aren't going to spend BILLIONS of dollars working on making something that isn't going to necessarily make them big money unless they HAVE to. If they were interested in cleaning up the air they would exceed the gov't regulations instead of just creeping past them.

Is America great... HELL YEAH! We ain't perfect by any means, and we never will be, because people have different opinions of perfect. For instance... I think everyone should be able to own pretty much any kind of gun they want, as long as it is LEGALLY owned and carried. Otherwise only the criminals will have them and we will be screwed... I also think that abortion is a crock of $hit... outside of "special circumstances." Now how many people agree w/ that??? It is the same way with every topic so everything is decided by votes!

We decide what is going to happen w/ each issue mentioned... indirectly, but we still decide it... that is why it is critical to voice your opinion to the "right" people... something I am ashamed to say, I don't do often enough.

The ban will take a while but it looks like it is gaining momentum. THe boat motors and new four stroke (experimental) motocross bikes from Yamaha and Honda are true signs of something coming. Manufactureers do NOT spend money on new designs unless they have to. I love my two stroke and planned on buying another (Xplorer 400) but I have changed my mind and I am going to buy a four stroke. Four strokes have gotten ALOT quicker in the last few years.

Yea, I could see them banning all two-stroke ATV's, and even Dirt Bikes. But I think soon enough, we will see 2-stroke, fuel injected motors, that burn even cleaner than 4 strokes- what I heard.

"I dont support much of what the government does but I also understand that collectively we are much smarter than an individual that doesnt agree with something."

That's not what me and my buddy intellectual conservatives would say. The government is the most wasteful and inefficient organization in the world. The bigger it is the more inefficient *look at the USSR*. And here we have the socialist left wingers disguising themselves as Democrats. Just shut up.

In this country, regulations don't go thorugh until people demand them. We will never really find / use an alternative energy source unless it is more efficient. I know I won't. I'd have a 2-stroke unless 4-strokes are out there that are more powerful.

Finally your comment suggests that the government in this country is always the people's will...I find that is definitely not true. Over 60% of Americans favored a repeal of the Death Tax, but that will never go into effect.

And to those greens in Cali with there "power problems" eat _ _ _ _. they put restrictive environmental regulations, didn't build a power plant in 10 years, and had unqualified workers at the powerplants. I laugh at them...it's just too bad the people who saw this coming suffer from the idiocy of the liberal majority in Cali.
