I have heard recently that in a few years two-strokes will be banned. Has anyone else heard about this?

they won't be banned but most of them won't meet the 2004 pollution guidlines.

in some areas in cali, you cannot ride 2 strokes as they are "red stickered" and the rideing areas are 4 stroke only. Huge bummer for my banshee rideing friends

They'll never be able to ban them from riding areas unless they patrol the areas. Its not possible. there are way to many, esp dirt bikes. If they patrolled the riding area, there would still be some because they aren't going to see it all.

I think they are going to have them banned from being made. Only closed course dirt bikes for MX.

Why do you think the manufacturers of outboard motors now offer four-stroke models. The days of the two-stroke engine are numbered here in the U.S.

I know we wont be riding them in California pretty soon. Its all ready started to happen is some areas. It does suck and its been a concern for me as I'm getting ready to purchase another quad. Originally I was going to get an LT250 but the fact that its a two stroke and that aftermarket parts are getting harder to find I've started leaning to the 400EX.
