I recently banged-up my stock wheels and want to replace them with .190 aluminum wheels.
I am curious how well the .190 aluminum wheels will hold up compared to the stock steel wheels.
I am also wanting to do some other mods to my Recon. If you have done any performance improving mods to your Recon, I would like to know what you have done and how noticeable were the improvements.

Thanks,
Dedtru1

Well, I recently ruined one of my rear wheels, I ended up replacing it with a stock wheel, because I didn't have enough money to buy a set of the aluminium ones. I now run at a little higher tire pressure, most of the trails I run on (in Wyoming and Colorado) are very rocky and rough on rims.

As far as mods, I have added a Warn Winch which has been awesome and has given me the ability to get up trails the even 4wd ATVs couldn't get up. Maier Skidplates have helped to protect my underside from damage, and I added a Garmin GPS for navigation and use as a speedometer. I am planning on adding a K&N power kit soon.

I have ITP on my bandits on my Recon. Although now they are on my 400. But while on the Recon they never bent or did aanything to where I could not ride it. Also I have a K&N Powerkit with a FMF MegaMax on it. I have jetted it. One thing every Recon owner should do is cut the snorkel. The snorkel air intake(located on the left side of the gas tank) is very restrictive and if you just make the hole bigger you can notice a difference.

If you want REALLY strong aluminum rims get the stock 300ex , 400ex , 0r 250R , 250X rims , they have a rolled edge and are really strong , you can usually pick up a good set on ebay , sometimes with tires for reall cheep ! good luck with whatever you choose
