I am about to buy a 2001 honda rubicon. i was wondering if anyone else has one and what they think of it. is it good in the mud and deep water. i would appreciate any info that you have about the quad to make it better. im already going to buy a winch for it and put it on before i even ride it. thanks for any suggestion and commonts about what you think about the quad.

the rubicon does great in the mud because there are so many different gear variations. slap some mud tires on and, maybe even a pipe, jet kit, and a filter, and you'll have an awesome mudder! I have had one problem with mine, the speed sensor went out but the dealer replaced it under warranty. as long as you aren't drag racing it, it will do just as good as the new Kawi, and Griz, in the Mud competitions. I may be wrong about that but... it is also my opinion.

I have heard that if you put really big and heavy mud tires on a Rubi the Power goes down a bit. Highlifter.com is coming out with a preformance kit for the rubi from what I hear, not sure when though.

http://www.ansley.net is a great site to see what a rubi can do in the mud. TexMudder is a submarine captain. hehe.

Oh, forgot too.
I have had people tell me when I scream thru water or wet mud the fenders do a great job of keeping the goo off of me compared to theirs. Only time I get wet is if it comes up over the seat.
