ANYBODY INTO HONDAS(the cars) ?????

I don't know.... I have a 1976 triumph spitfire... No rocket, that's for sure. But I would think it is considered an import. It was originally titled in europe.
It's fun to play with the bigger cars. I just put the motor back into it this summer. It is a 1500cc 4 cylinder. But it gets interesting with dual weber carbs..roller rockers...cam..dual point ignition...header and exhaust. I regularly attend rallies and auto cross. The car weighs in at around 1600lbs...and without a dyno we estimate it at about 150hp. (43hp was the stock engine).
The little car moves for sure. But I'm not sure if I like the cam. Kind of ruff idling at a light. But that's what makes it so much fun. And if I drive it everyday...things break...But I guess you have to understand triumph history to know what I'm talking about.
Now my dad has a '72 corvette. 454, side pipes...whatever else he has bolted on the engine. That car is just plain scary. It will pin you to the seats at any speed it seems. My dad is getting up there in age now. So he does not appreciate it like I would. But I'm almost 30 now...and he still hardly lets me drive it.
I don't know why...But my dad sold a 67 or 69 (can't remember the year) Dodge dart gts convertible. We have pictures of that car pulling the front end off the ground from a stop light strait from the factory. I never got to drive that car..But rode in it a few times. It felt so much stronger than the vette.
I guess growing up with my dad and all his fast cars burned me out...I ended up going the sport bike Rt. at 16 years old. After all the available power of the bikes...I never got excited about any suped up car.
I don't know what the meaning of my post was I just thought I would share some of the cars I have had interest in. I remeber my dads charger too. The flip around headlights were to cool for it's time.
On another note...I crack up when driving through the city...all the little neons with wings and ground effects?...Why would someone take a perfectly good accord...and put rims and low profile tires on it? And of course the big ole wing again? hehehe Tinted windows and neon lights? Woo hoo. Cracks me up...Honda civics with megaphone exhausts sticking out the rear.... Big ole loud stereo. But the best part...It's usually one big sausage party...the car is bottoming out because it is full of 5 or 6 guys all bopping there heads up and down and acting the game. I love it...they get out of the car and all at once they are holding their pants up just to walk into a store. Never undestood that one.
anyway...smells like the coffee is about done...I better go.

I have ridden in a Hennesy Viper Venom 650R(only up to 140MPH though). That is 650 HP. That thing flies like nothing listed on here. The Dodge Viper is just pretty hard to beat in the drags. But I would still choose the Vette any day.

hey, ugly
i know the 70 was the fastest year,
you thinking about the 73's with all pollution stuff,
mine has one crappy thing on it that does nothing, and i think its disconnected anyway,
under the hood is pure engine,
it runs low mid 11's to low 12's,
id like to get my hand on a 1970 SS,
and only the most healhty (10,000$) 350s can beat me....
im also pure stock,
if i had the money to build it up, just think of the potential

I would love to c your car.I am sorry if I offended U.I got to thinkin after I made the post and even a stock 5.0 stang runs faster than 15's!That was a very bad estimate.

86 trx250r setup for mx
97 300ex

im not sure which it is,
but it has a mega shifter,
i know they didnt mesure it in liters back then,

for us here in NZ
the legal speed limit is 100km/h and fuel costs about $1.1 a litre
..so i drive a rice burner.........1993 ford telstar (mazda 626 badged)...it will still pull 190km/h and tow a trailer all day at 120km/h.....but if i get caught speeding look out
....jap cars are dominant here......cheap.......and very quick
us cars ain't
point......everyone/everycountry is different
i can't think of anyone of the top of my head with a american car....we get big aussie built ones but none really from the us.......dodge neon?...etc is here but in small numbers
soo....to me rice burners are ok
if i wanna go fast i get off the road, and on to my trike....
there ain't no substitue for cubes
and there ain't no substitue for speed either......and the rice burners give that
ps. ma parents have a 94 accord 2.2 sedan.........thats a great car.....yet another great honda product
pudding

I prefer to stick with the resonable full size American Sedans Heavy, Built good, and you can hit a pole without damaging the car! My car isn't anything great, but it is sufficient for a 16 year old.
