A Stock Mitsubishi 3000 GT, VR-4 (Twin Turbo, 420HP), will kill most V8's on the road with only running 14 psi. I use to have one, my best 1/4 mile was a 11.6 @ 126.78 MPH. My buddy has a Mustang with about 620 hp and he wouldn't beat me by much. I bought my car for $28,500, and put about $3000 into extras, GReddy exhaust, GReddy turbo timer, Blow-off valves, computer chip, and some more. He had about 25,000 just into the motor. I could still get 24 mpg on the freeway.

I have a Dodge Avenger that runs a 1/4 mile in 14.9, no NOS or blowers. It's only 2.5L! But it's set-up for street racing, 700lb rated springs and lots more!

Don't take me wrong, Muscle cars are cool, but not for me. I'm in my 20's on my 40's! Any fast car is sweet, but stock cars suck!

Your car isn't really yours until you customize it to make it your own!

jfboy,,,of course you got this type of response. This is partly due to ignorant V8 guys and the ignorant riceboys that give us true honda enthusiasts a bad name. So I don't usually voice my hobby for hondas on the internet because of this type of response.

I have a similar setup to you, 92 CX hatch, 96 gsr with all bolts on and skunk2 cams & gears, Si pistons, type R valvetrain, etc. I am in the process of painting the car myself (which I have been lazily working on).

You can view my car and mods @ beyondspecs.com and my 400ex is on beyondspecs.com/ATV. Awesome having both hobbies (any many more).

You know what would make a great picture, my hatch pulling a trailer with my 400ex. hehe

Hey, I have a 1998 s-10 2 wheel drive, and a 2.2 with a stick. It has a small engine, but has more beans than it should. It fits the 400ex in the back, and looks sweet (bright red). Good little truck.

For me...it has nothing to do with being an ignorant V8 guy as mentioned above. I must have grown up in a different timeframe than some of you.
I just can't get myself to appreciate a perfectly good pick up truck that has been lowered to the ground, taking with it any practical use the truck might have had prior to the ruin job.... And yes....I see many people with crx's, accura, neon, civics...just wasting there money on 12000 car(new out of the box)..and then ruining it even more by trying to make it a racer wanna be.
I still stand by my claim. Every person I see in a car like that will be deaf by middle age with the fancy noise maker in the truck. The pants are around the knees...You have to sit in the front drivers seat...But try to lean as far towards the passanger seat as you can...with one arm draped over the steering wheel and the other hand on the radio.
I'm sure most the sentences start with yo yo yo. Unless a person wants a nice little rally cross car...then playing the "I'm too cool" role just cracks me up.
But remember...This is just my opinion. It's not up to me to tell a person that what they are doing with their car is wrong. I'm just sharing my view of things.
..And believe me....I know all about costumizing these cars. I used to own a shop that did stereos..tinting...and all the little "bolt ons" that the kiddies go crazy over. I used to laugh my fool head off all the way to the bank. hehehe I can still smell the michael jordan cologne all the way over here. hehe

My favorite is when someone used to come in and ask for a big ole sticker that announces to the world that you have an expensive stereo in your car...Here now...come steal me!!! Oh well...Or a big huge sticker that says puerto rico!!! woo hoo.

Ok, since this post persists I must add.

I hear alot of you quoting Hp, and Et numbers but does any one of you have any proof? I tell you what, you post a copy of your dyno runs and or your time slips and I will post mine. It is easy to say I have a ?sec car, but prove it. Don't just type out some times, scan a slip and show it to me, I will scan mine as well. Untill then just pipe down and keep chroming your rides because if it don't go, chrome it.

1965 c-10 short bed stepp side
Wieand 177 blower
All fiberglass except for cab
Engine dynoed out a 359hp 419ftlbs tq before the blower!

Whip it out and lets show them, beat blown cobras! Also vipers, c5 vettes, Camaro's and your average rustang!

So till you kiddies can prove it, lets get back in the slow lane. Tell me you get great mpg untill you turn your blower/supercharger on.....

sayitfmf,,,you are ignorant because you are stereotyping all people that modify their imports. Thats what I was saying. I love most all cars. I have helped my dad build up his big block 39 chevy coupe.

But i prefer the light, good handling sub compacts cars. My car weights in at 2100 lbs. This means it takes less horsepower and torque to make it accelerate fast, it takes less suspension tuning to make it handle well, and takes less brakes to make it stop quick. The car is built mainly for autocross with full sways, coilover suspension with race springs, tower support bars, etc.

With my yoko tires the car will pull close to 1.0g on the skidpad. And it runs high 13's at the 1/4 mile dragstrip. This numbers aren't superior but good. The car is fun to drive and fun to race on a track.

So everytime you see a modded import don't assume the guy is a 'i'm the sh*t' type. Believe me I can't stand those people either. Thats why I don't associate with some import guys just because of their attitudes. But not all are like that. I guess the ones that are like that are trying to prove theirselves in this v8 country, but their doing it wrong.

I know that my comments sound ignorant in your eyes. I do not stereo type all people like that... I'm just sounding my opinion like I am entitled to. Like I said, I ran a shop that specialized in this type of thing. I did not like the business, so I got out.
99% of the time...My "stereotyping" is quite accurate. If your not like that...then great for you.

It takes a strong man to call someone ignorant over the internet....So go help your dad build your car...fix up your escort or whatever. It does not matter to me much. I already have my 1600 pound car. My post was clear that this is my opinion. If your really racing your car....then great, It is fun for sure. I see alot of rx7's, escorts,crx..and the like at the auto crosses I go to. I know for a fact that most of the people are not into rallies and autocross. I'm the youngest guy at most of the races I go to. It is surprising that the neons actually do very well..with hardly any mods. The person who posted about the 3000gt is very accurate...those cars are just plain fast and well mannered...but costly. I can care less about g's and all the other associated numbers..they are worthless and for bragging rights only.
With todays gas prices...It makes sense to have a fuel efficient car. I am not saying everyone is a poser...Just the bulk of them.
You sound like you have a problem with stereo typing anyone with a V8. So I guess we are both ignorant.

On another note...I do not know you...you do not know me. I have no idea how old you are or what your background is...So I'm stating opinions and guessing for the most part.
Take it for what it is worth and don't lose any sleep. This is an ATV forum, I think.

sorry for offending you. Wasn't attacking you,,what I should of put is your ignorant to the sport of imports. Ignorant is a lack of knowledge of something. So you seemed to have a lack of knowledge of the import scene.

But your right, more than half of the import people are ones that you describe. I agree with that. And you have every right to state your opinion,, I just tryed to show you that just because some one says they own a honda and fix it up doesn't mean their a "whats up,,yo yo" person. Thats all. Nothing personal.

Everyone should have fun and have their own tastes, just keep an open mind.
