Why does everyone pick on the 300EX?
#12
almost everytime i go riding i go with a guy on a 400ex. i kick his *** so bad in the mud and going over downed trees. i hit the trees with ease, pop wheelies and jump right over them fun stuff. he gets stuck and has to pick his quad up and push it over. on the trails we are the same, i can do them a bit better in certain spots, but mostly the same. the only real differnce is on the road, jumping he goes a bit higher and does it better becuase hes a bit ballier then me, but other then that we are almost equal.

The only thing the 300EX has over the 400EX is reverse, thats it. Anyone saying they beat the 400EX's in other situations, that is totally because of rider ability, not because of the machine, why would a 300EX be better in trails, mudholes, or climbing logs?? It wouldn't, its just the ability of the person riding it. As much as NONE of you 300EX owners will admit it, I would bet that all of you would trade your 300 for the 400. Why wouldn't you? OK, you don't NEED the power, but you know you want it, most people want more power than even the 400EX has. And it does everything else better too, and looks better.

660R01: I don't want the 400EX or the power, and to me it doesn't look near as good as the 300EX. Have you ever looked as the front of the 400EX? It has a scared look to it. Second, I never said that the 300EX was better than the 400EX. And also I don't want the 400EX so there is no way I am going to trade my 300EX for one. So there is nothing to admit.
evhwg: Just because we don't have to get off the Quad go to the front, lift it and turn it around doesn't make us lazy. Heck I am at least 10 pounds UNDERWEIGHT right now. Using reverse on a quad doesn't mean that I am lazy, it just means I would like to back up faster! Maybe we are all lazy since the motor is doing all of the work, how about we give it a brake and push ourselves around the trails.
Side Note: I sat on a 400EX at the local shop, and I noticed for me the gas tank area was to wide and the bars were to low.

01TRX300EX, I don't have anything against the 300EX's. Its just that the 400EX does everything better, except go backwards. And I guess the looks are a personal preference, but I just don't see what you see apparently. I'm not sure but I think the fact that you own a 300EX might be clouding your vision a little. I mean I own a Grand Prix GTP, but I know the Trans Am looks nicer.
And KILLER250R, are you sure you didn't forget anything on your list of the "BIGGEST dogs"???????

I own a 99 300ex
I used to get mad over the same thing but i stopped caring.
As long as there is something bigger the smaller one if going to get picked on I hate to say it but thats just the way it goes.
There is nothing wrong with the 300ex they handle great and are awesome in the woods.
