Greaser,
If I were to purchase one I would have to go with the 02 model because of the 2/4 switch. Read an article last night on the 450ES. It will just be more plain fun without the front wheels pulling all the time. If needed you can hit the button for 4 wheel drive. Chet

well i"m not trying to be an *** but sometimes looking things over real good can let you know about what to expect when it gets some miles on it(i'm deathly afraid of new fangled gadgets)but do think that new 2 to 4 might be neat.i would ask a hell of alot of questions.how does it work, what makes it work, where are all the componets, easy to service after warranty is gone. keep looking at it ,if not sure go back to the dealer as many times as it takes until your satisfied .say has anybody seen my glasses

the 450 is a good machine, not real crazy about the thumb shift thing but if you get it you might want to ck out a extended warranty .say on that 300 first do you know who own's it,then pop the air filter lid, does it look clean, filter in good shape,no holes not coming apart.does it have large tires,i personally would not buy if it did, never know where it's been, also look at the frt cv boots.look for holes, rips.if it has plugs for the frt brkes, take a flashlite look in side,is it rusty inside sure sign of possible bad seals.how does it sound, runs without stalling.then over all condition.but personally i would not buy, sorry about that statement if the price was right and condition was good why not
