Well sounds kinda funny , a good mechanicaly 250R for $1500 ! Has the frame been all welded up , or the motor is on it's lasy bore , maybe the tranny is ready to go. I think if you seriously think about this machine then you should go on a VERY VERY LONG test ride and try to get it through all the gears to make sure none of them are missing. Sounds like A) The guy is smoking crack or B)He is telling you it's good and you are eating it right up because you really want a 250R and you aren't thinking strait. For $1500 this thing is probably going to fall apart after a good week of riding. What year is it ? Also how long have you known this guy , whats to say he is not full of $H!T and is just telling you it's in great condition. Good Luck try not to get ripped off too badly

Ya that does sound pretty cheap. It sounds like a deal I would be interested in. I would like to find an R (Doesn't have to be running) for less than $1000 and fix it up to be a full on race bike. If you back out will you send me his info. Thanks.

I go to church with his brother and his brother said it was in ok condition.
I need some help convincing my dad to buy it for me but he thinks i couldn't handle it. I'm 14. He said the only reason I want it is because its fast. he called me stupid for wanting to my 250EX to get a 250R. He doesnt really know that much about em.

I bought a 250R for $800 about a year ago. I thought I had a great deal too! After riding it several weeks I put a new top end in it, brakes, chain, carb, etc... I ended up with about a $2,000 dollar investment and it still needed a-arms, shocks, all bushings on the entire quad were toast, clutch, etc... Any way I ended up selling it for $2,000 and let the next guy put all the expensive aftermarket goodies on it. My 440Ex needs enough preventative maintenance for me.

Yea if you know how to ride I would say you can handle it , I am 14 and I will be getting one , and my friend got one when he was 14 , now 15 and it wasn't too much for him. It all depends on how good of a rider you are and mostly how fast you go , if you suck then you can still ride it , but not fast and if your reall good then you'll want more. they have ALOT more power then that 250EX and will be constantly be spinning them tires , Have fun if you get it and be prepared to spend alot of money , or in your case alot of your dads money.
