Why doesnt Honda Bring back the 250R
#1
I dont get it. they are the number one Motocross Racing quad and they stopped making them in , 88? or 87??? something liek that, and here they are 13 years later still kicking butt. I belive that is Honda Started making them again they would make a killing off of sells form them. What do you think?

We have gone over this MANY times before. They stopped making them because honda was geting there a$$ sued by every drunken hick and his brother aka his dad ,lol. They were getting hurt becasue they weren't reasponsible with them. You are right that they would make a killing but not only the injuries but the 2 stroke stuff too honda will not make another 2 stroke besides closed course bikes. Zeebo

Honda themselves said that they will never make another 2 stroke besides a closed course bike for raceing, they even developed a new 4 stroke dirtbike that hauls A$$, the CRF450, and it must be where the market's going cause yamaha made one too.
anyway bake to the topic
they stoped making the 250r because like killer said, every redneck and the brother sold everything that they owned and bought a 250r...they couldn't ride it, but they had a 250r. and they saw the people that did really cool jumps and tricks on them, and the old rednecks all got all drunk and tried to do it too and got hurt or killed, so they figured, hell...why not sue honda...it was their fault...and many lawsuits developed.
the other reason was environmental issues...all these greenie groups were on honda about the 2 strokes "POLLUTING" the air and hurting the environment and they all brought up lawsuits too.
as nice as it would be, we will never see a 2 stroke quad from honda

i personally don't think that people getting hurt or dying had too much to do with the demise of the 250r. three wheelers yes but not the 250r. i mean the 400EX is only a little bit slower than a 250r and look at all the quads that are still out that were just as fast or almost as fast such as banshees and raptors. i think the biggest factor was the pollution.

The 250R was re-released.The 400EX IS the 250R with a different motor.A combination of pollution and mellower power made them pick the 4 stroke.
Whats this "Redneck" crap? It was the little rich punks who had their parents buy them an R that got hurt and their rich parents sued.
Real riders know what the EX is. Everyone else calls it an underpowered piece of junk!

nothing intended toward "rednecks", i think for the most part everyone on this forum has a little bit of "redneck" in them!! teh little rich kids are more at fault then the rednecks, just because they wanna be just like tim farr, and ricky carmichael after the first they ride, and they thought that a high performance machine would do that..guess what..it didn't....and they got hurt. oh well.
as for the Ex...it's a phenominal bike in every aspect
