ok first please don't get mad at me for asking a question that might ahave been already asked and i know pipe questions have been run into the ground but pleeeeease help me out. ok with that being said i have a question about this one guys silencer that i saw on a 400. he had a tiny little silencer on his quad and i've always wondered what it was because it was absolutley the most beutiful sound i have ever heard in my life. so mellow and low without that supid barky snappy sound. is this the supertrapp pipe that i'm thinkin about? i went to supertrapps site and didn't see anything like it and i heard there was one from TC but you have to cut your sotck silencer and weld it on or somethin...i don't wanna do that. i was at ritter racing's site and they had a 3" supertrapp with a powrol header. it was for the 300 though and i need somethin for my 400. please help me out i NEED that pipe it will make my friends so jealous. oh yeah and the one at ritter racing was only 160 bucks! a price i can actually afford!! so help me out. am i thinking of the right pipe? where can i find one for a 400EX? and if you think i'm wrong about the silencer on the guys 400 being a supertrapp what kind do you think it was?

i don't think it was a cobra. it has that eliptical shape on the end like the supertrapp. i don't want a silencer where i'd have to cut my stock one cuz i'm gonna need to switch from aftermarket to stock once in a while. oh and i saw the 3 inch one at the site today and it didn't say anything about having to cut into my silencer...any1 else know anything?

The TC system requires no cutting of silencers. It requires that you cut your headpipe and inch or two, and putting their silencer on. You have to drill a hole in the frame to mount your new silencer though. This is in my opinion the best racing pipe out there for four strokes. I would go for it. If not, sparks are the best. IMHO.

You're in luck! the 3" suppertrap that you're looking at uses a universal silencer. Powroll makes the header for it. You can buy just the silencer from Dennis kirk and save a few bucks since you dont have to buy the header. If you buy it from dennis kirk you need to also buy the 4-stroke core for it and the disc's. It also comes with a bracket that you can move so you can mount it where your old silencer was. If it's still too short you can make a bracket pretty easy too. I have the complete system for my 300X and dollar for dollar it's the best I've found yet. Also it's not overly loud but it's really throaty. You'll like it.

wow thanks you guys anyways if i cut a few inches off my stock headers is that gonna make it so i can't put my stock silencer back on? also i kinda want to get the headers with the silencer. i know you don't need headers on a stock 400 but i'm planning on getting a 440 when i save up the money so i might as well get the headers now.

Okay, i have another reccomendation since header cutting is a problem. WCY2K400EX, on this forum has a Curtis Sparks full system on his quad. He said it perfoms really really well. I would send him a private IM. The Sparks systems are first rate.
