86 4trx250r problem

hello i have an axle problem with the lock nut that hold's the brake disc hub in place i use to be able to tightin it and now i can't at all i think maybe i poped a thread or something on the smaller nut and tightin's ageinest the brake hub since iv never had anything like this happen to me in my 8 year's in the sport and my manual fail's to give any useful info on the subject i look to my brother's and sister's of the sport for help.....please! im lost

Well, you might've stripped your nut.. I'm not familiar with what you're talking about.. So if you can, just get a new nut. Ronnies should carry the part that you need. If you cannot take the nut off, take your rotor, with the bolt and nut, to a machine shop, and tell them to drill and tap it. Most machine shops have only standard taps, so you would be forced to use a 1/2" or a 5/8" wrench(DARN) You could always take it to the shop and ask them what to do... But if you can, do all your work yourself. It will be better/cheaper in the long run.

I had the same problem with my 300ex .. I just went out and bought a new nut and it solved the problem. It cost me ... $16 canadian for a stock one.

thanks banshee...yea i know my way around quad's pretty well i don't think i have any tap's that big for it the main lock nut look's to be ok it's just the jam nut on it and i guess ill have to order another one and thank u to ex master
