I am looking at a 94 honda 300 four trax. The person selling it said that the gear box is bad. Every thing else on it is good. He is selling it for $450 dollars. Is it worth it. Around how much would a new/used gear-box range for. All answers or information will be greatly appreciated.

 

450 dollars would be a bit steep for a rolling piece of scrap metal...Talk to your local honda dealer to get a handle on how much moohlah will have to be sunk before considering the purchase. (I doubt the dealer would want to futz with it for less than 500$) If you are desperate to waste some time wrenching, 450$ is cheap entertainment value though(at least to me)
