Tell me if im wrong but it seems that only two or three people think that the recon and 250EX are the same "EXACT" machine. Even ATV CONNECTION! thinks that there is more prower found. so if you won't even take it from someone that obviously knows, then why argue?

and i love how EVERY one except for a couple of people say that they have ridden almost every quad. every forum i think killer250R says that he has ridden that quad and how his is better

ok sorry i have to join in, my first atv was a recon, loved it took it to little sahara, got around -ok-, but man was it easy to ride in the woods,also easy to get out of mud, have had it floating upside down a few times, then i bought a warrior,more power but forget stream crossings,just got a banshee for myself on x-mas, more power like a whole sh!@# load of power, its fun to ride but its really made for the dunes, well i think i love the new 250ex, smooth riding , light weight, small, hey what other atvs(>$4000) can you cruiz around on and still hold a beer(tell me how wrong i am, but i still like a cold one on the trail, -once in awhile) yea i plan on buying a 250ex, all atv,s have a different purpose, but that guy bashing the 250ex, I have some very tight trails down in houston, and I would love to kick your a@# on them on a 250ex, even with a cold one in my hand, so why dont you take your weak 400ex and-well you know-,, besides who can disagree the best all around atv has to be the raptor, i dont p[lan on owning one but from what i read there great- for all around- thay have enough power to go over the mud!! ive seen it--and i dont care what you say, having no reverse plain sucks, if the 400ex had one I would have gotton one already,,, Good day Happy riding, see ya at the dunes SHARKFIN

 

Well said Skarkfin. You are correct on the Raptor. Knowing Killer250r for 6 months he has not ridden every Quad made. But at his age he is pro-rider and can ride the 250r to its max.

3 I have ridden a Recon and owned on i sold it so i obviously think the 250R is better then that!! 250EX, 250R is better warrior, 300EX, 400EX, I think the 250R is better, these are my opinions i am talkign about not dirtwheels or ATVconnections MINE not what you think! you have never ridden a 250R so why don't you not talk untill you have?!

And yes of the different quads I have ridden I like the 250R best, thats why I bought it you dumb@ss not cause i liek other quads better!


FasterThenYou just cause some dirtweels riders like the 250EX doesnt mean jack! THey are paid to say what they say so I totaly disreguard most things I here from them. If you yall love the 250EX then good for you, as raptor said it is not worth the extra $500 !

I don't have a 400EX I have a 250R and im sorry but unless we doing some utility work my 250R will beat you, unless were on trails I dont know and your a better rider.

BTW Jamie when I get my lisence I should drive right down to your
house and show you what a 250R is so you can stop talking crap about something youve never even seen, your only about 1 1/2 away.

I have heard that the Graydon Proline pipe gives the 250EX a 25% power increase, but that seems a little far-fetched. Someone said the 250EX has 17HP, so that would mean a 4HP gain. It is possible, but I don't see how by just adding a silencer w/o a higher flowing header.

I have always been a fan of Yoshimura exhuasts. I firmly believe that they are the best 4 stroke pipes made. The titanium is lightweight, and gives an awesome sound.

Hey guys, lay off the 250EX. Just because your quad is faster doesn't always mean its better. Honda took alot of flack about the 250, but now all the manufactuers and riders SHOULD leave it alone. Honda has made a KILLING on this bike. Check around in this forum. More than 1 person has one. You guys are downing the shaft drive system too. Hey, maybe it's not for you, but obviously some people like it. Yeah, you can't adjust the gearing, but why would you need to on this quad? Smaller/Larger tires would do all the gearing up/down this quad would want! I don't know about you guys, but when I ride a wheelie... I never touch the clutch. On a 300EX, I shift into 2nd with the clutch, then pop it, and never touch it again until I'm ready to sit the front end down in 5th gear. The Recon/250EX tranny is definately good enough to wheelie. Just shift up into 3rd, push the shifter down into 2nd, give it some gas, and pop the shifter. Wheelie away!

Face the facts: We all know you are professional racers, and you could ride the wheels off the hottest quads ever produced. Not everyone cares about speed. Some guys like 250EXRiderJamie want something that you can cruise around in the woods on, play on an MX track a little, and still go check the mail without running through $3.00 spark plugs. Believe it or not, some people, even racers(like myself) enjoy taking a slow ride through the woods, enjoying nature. Ever tried to do that on a Banshee, 250R, or 400EX without fouling a plug or overheating?

This next comment is directed straight to Superman28: Buddy, you're a jerk! Do me a favor and leave this forum. Ever hear of the &quot;sport&quot; quad class? I guess people like you think that high performance quads are the only quads that should be made, and you're 100% totally wrong out of your @$$hole. Temper Temper, anyway I never said that was I saying is fact they were and still are my opinions. And yes Jamie if I could have any quad it would be a pimped out 250R. I never said I was the greatest rider in the world, I was commenting on he fact that SKT thinks that no man on no other machine besides a 250EX can beat a 250EX through the woods. I didn't put it down I just said to me it sucks UNLESS your a beginner or a girl I see a lot of peoples wives ride them. You are happy with your 250EX and someday if you want to go faster and ride faster terrain then you will have to upgrade from your 250EX because it won't be any good for faster riding and then maybe you will relies why I don't like the 250EX, maybe. LSB one bad thing about changing the tire sizes is the bigger the tire the worse your handling is gonna get and if you want more low end for those really tight trials then when you get smaller tires, there goes the major advantage of the 250EX's ground clearance. Finally!!!!! I can finally agree with 250R!. Except the opinion that the 250ex sucks. But the thing is there are a lot of different hop ups on the 250ex over the recon than people think. Read up on them and see. They have a little bit better exhaust, slightly bigger carb, and the engine is mounted longitudally for direct power to the shaft. This gives more torque than you think. The frame has nothing to do with a utility machine. Take it apart and you can tell it looks nothing like the recons frame. This is just to name a few. I have ridden a recon many times and in my opinion its too weak. But I dont think the ex is a all. The extra 10% and the 50lbs. less helps more than it sounds. So I would say that the measily $500 dont matter. It's worth it! Unless you need racks to haul stuff. But like I have said before, I got one because I was a beginner. And now that i have gotten better, I have been wanting something faster. And Jamie, the 250R is a lot faster than you think. Until you have ridden the power of a 2 stoke dont bash it. I too might pick a 250r over a 400ex if I could have any quad I wanted. It would be one of the 2. Unless honda puts their 650 engine in a ex!! That would be so sweet!

And on the REAL topic, I just got the WB e-series and put it on today. It gives a good boost and it sounds SOOOOOOOOO nice. not TOO loud and a nice deep tone. No more putt putt sound from the stock. Makes it sound like the little 250 has some *****. Plus its adjustable for however you want your machine to run. I would recomend this pipe to anyone! I also put on the jet kit, but I dont have my K&amp;N air filter in yet. Its on backorder here. So I tried adjusting the jetting with the airbox lid off for now with the stock filter. But I think we put in a size to big main because it keeps choking its self out. Not running right, I think it too rich. So We are gonna go down a size or 2 tomorrow and play around with it. Im glad I have good friends that know how to do all this stuff. I decided not to have the dealer do it because they charge too dang much. But if anybody has jetted there 250ex let me know all what you did and what altitude your at. I could use any help that I can get on adjusting it for maximum performance.

AND Im so sorry I started this forum back up. OOPS. Maybe next time I should look at the dates when I search for threads. this went from october to end of December. If it wasnt for me, nobody would have been arguing for the last week or 2 in the first place. So please, unless anybody has some helpful info, please keep your opionated comments to yourself. THANKS!
