Fitting a 2002 450ES front diff to an older 450ES

Anyone tried this? I have a 2002 450ES with the 2wd/4wd from differential. My friend has a 99 450ES and would love to have the same differential. Besides the solenoid, they look identical. Anyone tried this?

I would price the front diff from the dealer,it is not a bad price!!!I have a Rubicon and That front end will fit in this machine the only problem is the drive shaft length.There is two speed sensors that are on the cases but they can be bypassed to work.

Has he considered the Unlocker from Highlifter?
