KILLER250R,
I am not sure if I would like a twist throttle on my quads. I love it though on my KDX 200. This will not help you though in keeping up with me in the woods even in my mildly advanced stage of age.
Let us know how it twists out!!!!!

It blew up huh? Well that gives us a lot of info. Did it lock up, throw a rod, or just start smokin bad? Since you probably had the carb off to put the new throttle on I'm guessin you made a litte mistake somewhere.

Carb off, no. Heres the story. I put on my twist throttle and started it up and let it idle for about 5 minutes while I got a sweat shirt and my helmet and gloves. I went out and started riding around in my yard an after about 30 minutes it just died. So I start it up and brought it back to my house and I looked down at the overflow tube for the radiator and it was puffing out more steam then a locomotive! I parked it in the garage and took off the plastics and I was messing with the radio and I heard a noise. I looked over at the bike and than POP! the radiator cap popped off and hit the ceiling (15ft ceilings at my house) and then all the water/antifreeze shot out like a fountain and got the ceiling, myself and everything else around soaked! DAMN that stuff was HOT!!!
Then I came back here to my other house and didn't mess with it before I consulted someone here who could help me.

Can I just fill the radiator back up and try to start it or what?

Well I just rebuilt my first 4 stroke.....a 230 quadsport. Its really easy.So a 2 stroke will be easy too. I would suggest you pull the top end off. As long as you get new gaskets and have a torque wrench you'll be ok.

something is pressurizing your coolant system. You might have a bad cap, bad head gasket, or cracked sleeve (remote possiblity)

So I wouldn't really say it 'blew up'

This tragic story has a happy ending........... I went home sunday morning 7:00 A.M. put on my other tire (had a flat)and filled it with coolant, went riding all day with only 1 problem some IDIOT (KKKILLER300EX) ran into the back of me and knocked my pipe of the head After some wrenching we fixed it and were on our merry way lol I rode with 2 raptors, 2 400exs, a few 300ex's, DS650, warrior, and a bnch of 4x4's fun day !!!!!
