Why are the Front wheels on the Honda Rancher larger than the rear wheels?

It's really a 2 ply ballon tire wonder. With the narrower smaller front tires, I guess by using a larger wheel keeps tire roll in check a little.

he's talking about the wheels not the tires. the wheels are 12" up front and 11" in the rear. I have no clue why honda did this. It sure did frustrate me when i was looking for tires though. Not every tire is made in both 11 and 12 sizes. Narrowed the selection a bit.
