the rubicon is a good machine but there are now people having problems with the d2 setting on the rubicon. this was one of the reasons i didnt buy one and got the h.o because of the technical trani. i have heard that the trani would not be good in the long run. but there has been people who havent had a problem. $4500, heck yes that is a great price for a rubi. go out and buy the thing.

boneylong--- Are you a **** star????? LOL
My advice would be to spend the money on a trip to the Honda dealer for a PRE-Purchase inspection. That should put your mind at ease. The price is fair IF the machine checks out to be a good one! Enjoy the ride!

EVERY manufacturer has isolated issues, and an occasional "lemon". Several have issued recalls on parts that were found to be defective. Honda is notorious for over-engineering their products. That's how they have built up the reputation that they have. They test all their new products (the Hondamatic included) thoroughly before they release them to the public. It's this commitment to quality that keeps me coming back to Honda. I haven't been disappointed yet.

As for whether that is a good deal...I would say YES. Look it over like you would any used ATV. I wouldn't be concerned with the transmission. Check out the drivetrain, suspension, and underside for any signs of abuse. If it looks clean, BUY IT!!
