I tapped into it right in the steering colum where all the wires drop under the plastics.

 

Thanks for the reply. I FINALLY got this project done this weekend. I found a hot wire coming off of the lights and tied into that. I love the finished product but the directions on this thing were terrible from the mounting plate to the winch. Very vague! Trying to get to NC to ride one more time before the trails close.
