I am rebuilding the top end of my oil burning 400EX. I already paid 24 bucks for 4 tiny valve seals... 30 bucks for a clymer manual.. 300 for a IMS 440 kit
and havnt found out how much labor is going to cost for a machine shop to press out the old sleeve and put in the new one.

Do I NEEEEEEEEEED a valve spring compressor from honda to get the springs off to put on the new seals? Any other way?
Im trying to avoid spending any more money....

I'm pretty sure that you need the valve spring compressor. It usualy runs about $120 to get a cylinder resleved.
