I'm buying a 400EX and I've been wondering how fast they really go... I've heard that they do 64 to 70mph.. my friend says his warrior does at least 68.. is this true or not... I'm looking into an unlimited rev cdi box, 11.something piston from weisco, a SX1 Muffler and a 39mm Keihin Carb and i'm wondering how fast it will be able to go with all the extra's i'm gonna order... thanx.

I can hit a 25 foot double in second gear. The two stroke guys have to be at the top of 3rd. Does that count?

Brian, I own a '99 400ex and 64 to 70 is right. Unless this warrior is highly modified there is no way it will go that fast. Unless it falls of a cliff then maybe. Mike

Well Brian I ride with two friends who have 00 400's and I would say your looking at closer to 64 than 70 unless your on a steep grade.Just this weekend I seen a stock warrior and a stock 400 drag race and it wasn't even close. They must be alot faster in the south though because 400exinFl say's his will run as fast in second as a 2 stroke will wide open in third. My buddy ran theres against another friends 250r and the R spanked his a!! all the way through the race not just on top end..The 400 is a great bike, you can't take anything a way from it, but faster than a 2 stroke?!?Not even close....

400exx, what are you using to clock your bike?? I have never tried to clock mine, but everything that I have ever read anywhere has listed the stock 400ex at 64-66 mph. Simply changing the jetting on a stock bike should not increase your top speed by 10 mph. What did you do to come up with 74 mph?

I just bought my 400ex and I am pleased comparing it to my 96 300ex. Where it topped out in 5th my 400 was only mid rpms in fourth. I've yet to get it in fifth(its not like me!)

Ok first of all. There is NO WAY a WARRIOR goes that FAST! I'll bet my truck on it. Not that it really matters, but you'll be going between 60-65 mph. If u want it to go above 70mph prepare to spend some big bucks. If your looking for speed then get a banshee, though you won't be able to turn. I've ridden with a lot of people and top speed really isn't that important. power is what u want, so u can roll on the jumps instead of plowing into them, and not hearing that scary noise u hear when your going up a hill and your about to konk out. Good luck. Check out my website if u want to see some pics of my 400ex http://members.home.net/umcpmark/index.htm

The 400ex has 27 hp stock. The warrior has 17 stock. The numbers definately say that the warrior is sucking dust everywhere but stopped!
